If you don’t receive an ITA for any reason, then improve your profile and increase your ranking under the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) which is based on your education, work experience, the languages you can speak, and some other criteria. The candidates getting the highest-ranking are selected and invited to apply for permanent residence.

Provincial Nominees

The Provincial Nominee Program provides an alternative method to the people who have relevant education, skills and work experience that can help in the growth of Canadian economy and it is a good opportunity for the people wants to live permanently in any province/territory of Canada. So, basically, this PNP allows provinces and territories to nominate foreigners to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

To settle in Canada individual has to satisfy specific criteria which may vary for each province and territory which includes languages proficiency either in English or French. Similarly, provinces and territories target students, business people, semi-skilled or skilled workers for program stream. But requirements keep on changing and depend on the availability of workers in that specific province or territory.

Caregivers Program

In Canada, caregivers are temporary foreign workers. Although, Federal immigration programs are also available for caregivers to get a permanent residence in Canada. A caregiver is hired by families in Canada under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program to provide care to children, seniors and people having the bad medical condition. These families hire people on live-in and live-out basis i.e. caregivers for the children who are under the age of 18 years and people of 65 years of age or over, people with disabilities, serious medical conditions.

There are some special programs for people who are in high medical needs. Anyone can apply through this Caring for People with High Medical Needs Class if that person has been working in Canada for at least two years as a registered nurse , licensed practical nurse, home support worker or nurse aide orderly. Moreover, that person should have a minimum educational qualification with minimum language efficiency.

Pilot Programs

Pilot Program is a partnership between the Government of Canada and the 4 Atlantic provinces. They are New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

You can live in Canada temporarily and permanently but you must get a job before you apply and if both the employer and you meet each other’s requirement, you can live and work in Canada permanently by getting permanent resident status.

There are two Pilot Programs:

1. Atlantic Immigration Pilot – It is a partnership to influence skilled immigrants and international graduates to create a workforce and manpower for development of the region. Initially, Atlantic Immigration Pilot was launched as a three-year pilot but later on, it is extended by two years until December 2021.

2.Rural And Northern Immigration Pilot- This program was designed to give the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities throughout Canada and it helps in meeting the development of regional economy. In fact, it helps in testing a new way to a permanent residence in rural Canada.

3. The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot was developed to help spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities throughout Canada.

The Government of Canada will work with local communities to:

• Use immigration to help meet local labor market needs and support regional economic development
• Test a new pathway to permanent residence in rural Canada for skilled foreign nationals at various skill levels
• Create welcoming environments that encourage and help new immigrants to stay in their new communities
